The Parish Council looks after a number of play areas, including St. Margaret’s, Amberley Way, Leven Close and Kingsmead, helping to provide safe, welcoming spaces for children, young people and families to enjoy. View the locations of all Parish play areas on the ‘Maps’ page of this website.
St. Margaret’s Play Area – Outdoor Gym Now Open

The outdoor gym equipment at St. Margaret’s Play Area is now fully installed and already proving popular with residents. Originally planned for completion by Easter 2023, the project was finished ahead of schedule thanks to a spell of good weather, allowing work to be completed by mid-March.
St. Margaret’s was chosen as the ideal location to provide facilities that encourage active lifestyles for people of all ages, from older children through to adults. Since opening, the equipment has been well used and has become a valued part of the Parish’s commitment to health, wellbeing, and community connection.
We continue to welcome your feedback on how the play area is being used, as your views will help guide future improvements across the Parish.
Amberley Way Play Area – Plans for New Inclusive Equipment

The Parish Council is committed to making Amberley Way Play Area a welcoming and accessible space for everyone. Following community feedback, we are now developing plans to add new inclusive recreation equipment to ensure children of all abilities can play together.
Key ideas being explored include:
A wheelchair-accessible roundabout
An inclusive springer
A double-width slide with easier access (including transfer points for wheelchair users)
Play panels with interactive games, including Braille features
We are working closely with specialist organisations to make sure the new equipment is safe, high quality, and designed to meet the needs of all families.
This project is currently in the planning stage. While we had hoped to complete the improvements during 2024/25, the high cost of recreation equipment means that some work may carry over into 2025/26.
Your views remain important. Please share your feedback and ideas with the Parish Council, as your input will help us shape Amberley Way Play Area for the future.
