What We Are …
- Egglescliffe Parish Council is a non-political local authority at “grass roots” level
- Thirteen local residents who care about the area in which we live and want to do our best to enhance and preserve that same area.
- We represent many age groups and walks of life.
- We are purely volunteers and receive no payment or allowances for attending meetings, or for carrying out any other Parish Council duties.
- We are readily available, live close by and, above all, being non-political, have no party line to adhere to, nor are we connected with any church.
And What We Do …
- We monitor and pass on complaints from residents, meet with Stockton Councillors, and instigate action with local authority officers
- Carry out an annual parish inspection to report any potholes etc. which need attention and walk public rights of way to ensure these are maintained and remain open to walkers
- Maintain a number of open spaces such as the Village Green in Egglescliffe
- Take responsibility for the care of Egglescliffe War Memorial and surrounding area
- Own and maintain Memorial Park in Victoria Road (jointly with Preston Parish Council)
- Safeguard children’s rights to play and provide & maintain play equipment on the four play areas
- Organise regular fetes with Egglescliffe Area Residents Association
- Monitor and make comments on planning applications in the Parish
- Own & manage two allotment sites at Eliff’s Mill (Urlay Nook Road) and the Village site.
- Twice yearly newsletters to Egglescliffe and Eagelscliffe households keeping you up to date.
In fact, we do all this and much, much more … for the residents of Egglescliffe & Eaglescliffe Parish.
